It’s is frustrating to see the following cars ending up crashed and wrecked; but, we all know, money is never an issue with these big Hollywood stars. So, what do we do when we see these wrecked machines? We simply shrug them off because next thing you’d know, owners of these cars will have new ones in there garage as if no money was wasted with the wrecks:

Here, I want my readers to look at these ultra-expensive celebrity cars which happened to lose their luck and ended up far from the stylish and fast automobiles that they were:

1. A magenta Lamborghini Diablo SE30 was in possession of Jay Kay, the leadsinger of Jamiroquai …Until he lost control when trying to turn and was thrown onto the edge of the road. The result? £750 fine and picture below:

2. Lindsay Lohan lost her Mercedes-Benz CLK-350 when she was trying to escape the paparazzi. Well, as you can see Lindsay now driving another car, you it is obvious she doesn’t care a bit.

3. Mr. Kerimov, listed as one of the richest individuals by Forbes, lost his Ferrari Enxo when he was driving in the rain. He ran into the tree near the seashore in Nice, France. He was traveling at high speeds, which are not allowed at the area, not permitting speeds faster than 35 miles/hour. Suleyman Kerimov, 40, is a Duma Member, and worth $7.1 billion treasure. 4. also included in the list is the one of the most expensive car crashes happened on Dec 15^th of 2002. A Norwegian carrier sank down crashing into a container ship at the English Channel, which was always known as a foggy place. It cost about 3000 luxury cars amounting to 30 million £. Since it happened on a bad weather, saving these multi-million cars from the bottom of the sea was impossible. Saabs, BMWs, and Volvos were reported to be in the great mishap. Crews were alive.

5. It is funny but comedians also cry… when his multi-million dollar car got wrecked to pieces. This was what happened with the famous Mr. Rowan Atkinson, or the more famous Mr. Bean. In case you don’t know it, Rowan is a car collector since 1981. Unfortunately, the car involved in the mishap is one of the most expensive cars in the world, the McLarein F1. He was driving the car when he suddenly crashed into a woman’s Rover Metro in 1999.

6. Nick Bolea Hogan, Hulk Hogan’s son, 17, is the next victim. He lost control while driving his Toyota Supra on August 27, 2007 and ran into a palm tree. The result can be seen below:

7. Now, the most expensive car crash happened in Beverly Hills. It was reported that a cool $1 billion was lost due to this great mishap. The reason for losing a flock of Enzo Ferraris, Bentley Bizarrini, McLaren F1s, Maseratis, Lamborghini Diablo, Aston Martin, Porsche Boxter, Bugatti Cobra, Jaguars, and other ultra-expensive cars was due to a tramp trying to cross the street in the wrong place. Some said that it was because of the thin fog. Whatever is the reason, it doesn’t change the fact that the greatest car lost happened during that accident.

8. Orlando Bloom is next to the list. Although he remained safe and sound after the crash on October 12^th, his two female passengers were injured and taken to the hospital. They were tested negative for drugs or alcohol. But the crash happened on their way to night club. The 30-yr old actor, went crashing into a parked car.

9. A Lamborghini went up the wrecked air in California. Martin Gegenfurtner, 21-yr old, went into the same dilemma when his Murcielago went into a 90-degree turn on a dry and straight road. The car purled and jumped upside down in the woods.

10. Bugatti Veyron, the fastest and most expensive car, went into wreck in Britain. It wasn’t owned by a star, nor a drunken celebrity, but the car was destroyed. Some $1.6 million were lost with this unfortunate incident.

Enzo sacrificed to plug movie

Crashing a Ferrari Enzo has to be embarrassing. But crashing an Enzo in front of TV cameras when trying to plug a movie takes shame to another level. Such was the fate of comedian Eddie Griffin (no, we hadn’t heard of him either) who’d been drafted in to promote the film Redline (no, we haven’t heard of it either) by driving the Enzo around a coned-off circuit for the benefit of the cameras. Unsurprisingly the clip spread like wildfire on the internet, leading some cynics to speculate the crash had been staged for just this reason and give the film some free worldwide publicity. Staged or not, the Enzo was a mess.

Bob Geldof v MSN

Another Lexus hybrid driving celebrity, at least Geldof is honest for his motives for jumping on the bandwagon – he simply wanted to avoid the congestion charge. A pity he didn’t also avoid running into one of our own, MSN man Andrew Quinn, who was riding his motorbike through Chelsea and suddenly found himself confronted with Geldof’s unexpectedly U-turning Lexus. Quinn suffered a broken leg and other injuries as a result of the collision and Geldof, whilst expressing shock at what had happened, played down accusations he hadn’t been paying attention. Geldof still has his hybrid and recently joined a debate on their implications for green motoring – hosted by Lexus.

Lindsay Lohan x 2

Like Paris Hilton, starlet Lindsay Lohan has made several appearances over the year on account of driving mishaps, both in the gossip columns and the courts. And it seems Sunset Boulevard was the downfall of both, Lohan crashing her Mercedes SL65 AMG into a kerb there and being charged with DUI. Bad enough in itself but traces of cocaine were also allegedly found in the car. You’d think after that Lohan might have kept a low profile but just two months later she was charged with DUI and possession of cocaine once again. Nothing like learning from your mistakes.

George Clooney’s chopper cropper

Worried that he might fall off and cause himself a schedule busting mishap producers of George Clooney’s latest film had apparently told him not to use his motorbike. Ever the rebel, Clooney ignored the request. But the producers’ fears were realised when the ex ER star and girlfriend Sarah Larson were side-swiped by a motorist while riding his Harley Davidson in New Jersey. Clooney broke a rib and Larson injured her foot but both laughed the incident off on the red carpet shortly afterwards, Larson combining a little black dress with bandages and crutches to great effect.

Gordon Ramsay rammed

Potty-mouthed chef Gordon Ramsay has had his share of flash cars, with a particular thing for Ferraris. And he’s also no stranger to controversy, whether for his abrasive style or playing his part in the ongoing debate about TV fakery. One incident that definitely wasn’t mocked up was his coming together with a Scottish farmer during filming for The F Word. The pair were attempting to herd buffalo in two 4×4s in a segment for the show when they got a bit carried away and managed to run in to each other. No chefs, farmers or animals were hurt in the incident, which wasn’t broadcast.

All motorists now live in fear of the camera’s flash but while most of us only have the odd Gatso to worry about the rich and famous live under the unblinking eye of the paparazzi. Make so much as an illegal u-turn and you’re front page news, but even celebrities’ car buying choices are now scrutinised and assessed by the voracious gossip columns and celebrity websites. So here are 10 examples of famous people getting into the headlines because of their cars in 2007. There are sure to be plenty more to follow in the future.

Paris Hilton drives into jail

Between them Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears have accounted for a huge number of celebrity/car mishap stories in 2007. From DUI incidents (stateside code for drunk driving) to fender benders or, ah, clothing ‘mishaps’ when getting out of cars all have made regular appearances in the gossip columns. But the Hilton heiress’ failure to learn from her previous mistakes actually landed her in jail, after she was caught in her Bentley speeding up Sunset Boulevard after dark with her lights off. Not too clever by any stretch but coming a month after being caught driving while suspended the authorities lost patience and she was jailed for 45 days.

Iain Banks goes green

Celebrated author Iain Banks of The Wasp Factory fame is known for dramatic gestures – in protest at the invasion of Iraq he cut up his passport and sent the remains to Tony Blair. His latest campaigning gesture was perhaps a little less thought out though. A famous petrolhead, he chopped in his much loved car collection for a hybrid. Included in the sell-off were two Porsches and the BMW M5 used in his tour of Scotland’s whisky distilleries in his book Raw Spirit. Nothing wrong with taking a stand but the fact he swapped these fantastic cars for the ugly and not actually that green Lexus LX400h SUV was a bit of an own goal.

Footballers in speeding row

Flash motors and footballers are a recipe for disaster and crashes, speeding fines and other mishaps are all too common when the two are combined. Things got serious this year though when England star Teddy Sheringham (pictured) and a number of other premiership players were accused of giving false details when their cars were caught by speed cameras. Sheringham escaped with a caution after being charged with perverting the course of justice. Stoke City player Vincent Pericard was less fortunate though, serving a five-week prison sentence for saying it was his father driving when his car was snapped by a speed camera.

Beckham’s X5 stolen

David Beckham has a taste for flash cars and, like many footballers, has a load of cars at his disposal. That fleet was somewhat diminished, however, after an armoured X5 SUV was stolen while he was living in Spain in his previous job at Real Madrid. This year the car was alleged to have surfaced in Macedonia, where it was being used by a government minister! The Macedonian police claimed the car had changed hands 20 times in Spain, before ending up as official government transport, denying any knowledge of the car’s previous owner. Beckham’s grief at the loss must have been relatively short lived though after Audi apparently gave him a brand new Q7 when it heard of the theft.

Jack Bauer does jail time

Star of TV show 24, Kiefer Sutherland has been caught for drunk driving before. So when he was found DUI after leaving a Hollywood party in September he can’t have been too surprised to receive a 48-day jail sentence and extended alcohol awareness counselling. Initially Sutherland had hoped to split the jail term in two to enable him to honour film commitments on 24 but the Hollywood writer’s strike means he’ll be serving it one hit and spending Christmas behind bars. Indeed, what with bush fires destroying sets and its lead character now in jail the striking script writers might not be needed after all. 24: The Reality Show? It could happen.

 

Anna Kournikova and Johnny Depp Were Top-Picked For Celebrity Car Wash Poll

Motorpoint, the United Kingdom’s leading car supermarket, has announced and published the latest survey results for car wash poll. Read the rest of the entry to find out who went topped and those who were included in the results. This article was sourced from the website, automotoportal.

Anna Kournikova grabbed the top spot as the celebrity that most people would like to see wash their car. Kournikova was the tennis ace, singled by the readers and consumers who took the survey as the ‘Car Wash Belle’. The poll was a nationwide and had men pick female celebrities whom they want most to be on their driveway with a bucket and sponge cleaning their vehicle.

Cristina Aguilera (23%), who ironically released a single ‘Car Wash’ a few years ago, grabbed the next spot. She was joined by the actress, Scarlet Johansson (16%).

In the same study, Johnny Depp, got the top spot in “Car Wash Hunk” poll. The star of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ was singled out by the female voters, giving 25% of the vote. Kate Walsh’ Range Rover

I am not certain whether Kate Walsh has a Range Rover, but in this picture, she was seen getting out of one. According to other sites, the Grey Anatomy star was seen many times in the same Range Rover. So, I guess this one is hers. Anyway, the Range Rover is one of the popular luxury vehicles in the planet. And this model is not just your any everyday SUV, for it belongs to the top end of the sport-utility market. According to Edmunds.com,

“no luxury SUV has more pedigree than the Land Rover Range Rover.”

Well, you can see it just by watching the physical attributes of this vehicle. It dates back to 1948, when the Rover group started making bare-bones 4×4 vehicles of enormous off-road capability. In 1970, that tradition emerged the first Land Rover and was billed to be civil enough to be used by the public, even a person clad in a business suit. It had the solid-axle front and rear suspension, a pushrod V8 engine and four-speed manual transmission. And by the way, the first Rover was a two-door SUV that comes off quite rudimentary against the vehicle’s standards of today. Even though the basic style and built, the first Rover was immediately a hit among the wealthy individuals of UK consumers, especially to those who have had taste for safari vehicles.

First sales in the US went up only in 1987, although there were few Rovers imported via the gray market prior to it. Now, the Land Rover Range Rover is already in its third generation. And while very different from the first Rovers, the new Range Rovers still carry the same considerable prestige with its name. Whether what you are after is a capable off-road vehicle, the vehicle is one that possess top qualities when it comes to tough performance required on such application; or a luxury vehicle that you can show off to the world of on-road practicals, the Range Rover is simply the most elegant and distinctive utility vehicle on the road. Despite the rough edges that the vehicles come with, there is no way that they’d become bizarrely out of place. The distinctive lines and impeccable shine that they manage to give off anywhere you place them is the reason why.

The Current Land Rover Range Rover. It came on the market in 2003. It looks much like the older Range Rovers; however, underneath this new model is very different. Demi Moore – Another Lincoln Navigator Owner

Demi Moore was seen hopping out of a Lincoln Navigator when she was on her way to guest, I think, to “Live with Regis and Kelly”. Demi Moore is an addition to the long line of Navigator’s Hollywood stars owners. Judging from the number of stars driving a Lincoln Navigator, the full-size SUV is a big favorite amongst these people. The SUV was heralded as an icon late in the 1990’s, but years later, there were other full-SUVs coming out into the market. It was a victory however to Navigator at the Hollywood as, apparently, people in the industry were seen faring with the SUV.

In my personal opinion, this isn’t surprising considering the Nav has a certain kind of the imposing-and-flashy attitude. The big cabin and the black commanding presence are quite a scene when you see this vehicle parked or rolling into the streets. An ultimate rolling status symbol you can call it, Demi Moore was one of the practical Hollywood drivers, seeing this vehicle model as the right machine to drive wherever she may want across the wide streets of the Hollywood.

The early Lincoln Navigator was offered in a traditional body-on-frame SUV. Coming with the standard V8 power, the two generations made for the model were offered with seats that accommodate up to eight passengers, a cargo capacity that extends over 100 cubic feet, and a flexible tow rating that comes to over 8,000 lbs. The space, wide cargo, and towing capacity appealed much to the interest of large families, and might I say that it is not surprising for Hollywood stars or celebrities eyeing on this large vehicle as this is perfect for them, who in most times, carry bulky luggage containing their mountainous piles of change dresses, pumps, makeups and a lot others.

And so, the Lincoln Navigator made its niche on the market. Although there were quite a few drawbacks with the older Navs, like the subpar fuel economy, sloppy handling, and sluggish performance, it was easy for the consumers to forgive these flaws if only for the wide capacity and flexibility it brings around. But, it is good to say that it is a good move to redesign the newer Navigators. Over the years, there was new definition of formula which resulted all to the full-size SUV offering a more reasonably pleasant driving experience.

The current Lincoln Navigator has been dressed with new style to with an intention of capturing the hearts of an upscale audience. The bulk size can be said that it shares the underpinnings of the Ford Expedition, plus the standard 300-hp, 5.4-L V8, and 6-speed automatic transmission, there was a significant round of upgrades for the 2007 edition. The frame and suspension, plus the larger brakes, and sound-deadening materials were clearly heavy revisions that the new model went through.

The result of all this has impact to the overall performance of the vehicle. Whereas, the older Navs suffered from drawbacks that fell on the performance aspect, the newer models were tested to produce tidier handling dynamics, yielded more refined ride, and more great news to style-conscious individuals, were the new lovely and with-attitude grille design. The new grille is a clear statement of the newly-designed Navigator, with most amount of chrome available to boot among the many production vehicles currently parading the industry.

And so, the refreshed performance, upgraded into dramatic degree, and the same spacious capacity are unarguably reasons why most celebrities want to drive the full-size SUV model. One wouldn’t argue that Lincoln Navigator is a practical yet a trendy choice, no matter how big it is occupying a parking lot, I’d dare say the vehicle wouldn’t fail a need that most Hollywood stars need, with all their travel bags, makeup luggage, and all!

 

Stallone or Rocky Balboa cute (or not cute) with Volkswagen Jetta

Can you picture Mr. Rocky Balboa himself driving a little car, like the Volkswagen Jetta? At first, when I asked this question to myself, I just couldn’t and wouldn’t dare! LOL! How about you? Do you see the man fitting inside that little Volks car? It seems this Jetta was made for relatively tinier people, like me, hehehe. Rocky Balboa, or Mr. Stallone, is quite a large man, literally, with all those heaps of proteins lurking beneath his huge muscles, so I assume one could never dare imagine him owning, or worse, driving a cute, little car, like the Volkswagen Jetta.

And yet, he was pictured driving, or at least, entering the Jetta that he owns. In recent news, he was pictured by a certain photographer, together with her two daughters, shopping and then entering a black, shiny Volks Jetta. Yes, the big man himself is driving a Jetta. You can search it in the net, and there are a few that will display right on your monitor.

Well, there are some things that really can make you think. But surprises are never made to be discovered without, uhm, getting you surprised (I am lame?Ü), because that was exactly what I was when I saw the picture of the man. Indeed, it is not always accurate when you think this thing perfectly fits this person, or that thing perfectly fits that another. Anyway, we are done with the thinking why Rocky Balboa is driving that cute little, shiny, black car. Perhaps, the reason was that he starred in a commercial of the car model. Or perhaps, it was for the reasons below:

Volkswagen Jetta is reported to be VW”s best-selling model ever sold in the US. The design is made according to the Jetta that means “combined with the luxury and power of a modern jetliner”. This was probably why the car looks so good and different, with a kind of stylishness that you can never say that it was cute and elegant. The Jetta was not a new model to the VW. It was catered to the public as early 1979.

Earlier models were seen as homely and underpowered versions, but were seen submitted into significant remodeling in mid-1990’s. It was a successful attempt that brought to the VW offering the Jetta for buyers in their 20’s, as compact sedans. It has upscale cabin accommodations, and a nice demeanor and styling that somehow made it set apart from the mainstream economy automobiles. Later, there was a Jetta wagon seen offered to public, a much welcomed relief by the young families who affords economy vehicles.

The new Volkswagen Jetta was obviously, from the picture with Sylvester Stallone, there was a complete re-design venture. Available in three trim levels of S, SE, and SEL, the new Jetta comes with power of 170-horsepower, a 20-difference to the early 150 horsepower to early Jettas; a 2.5 liter inline five-cylinder, five-speed manual and standard and six-speed automatic as optional to the S and SE.

For sport-minded consumers, there is the Wolfsburg edition, with which, it features a separate GLI’s turbo-charged 2.0 liter four cylinder engine, plus six-speed manual. Meanwhile, the Jetta S comes with standard cruise control, eight-speaker stereo, full power accessories, and faux-leather upholstery. If you got the SE trim, you would like the upgrades made to the sunroof, 10-speaker stereo, and heated front seats.

All Volkswagen Jetta trim levels have a premium feel to their cabin furnishings. Fit and finish are also outstanding. With Stallone’s Jetta, you could see these characteristics as plain evident, with probably the backseat yet another outstanding feature.

If these features and new designs of the new VW Jetta are not enough why the Rocky Himself favored the car over other models, I don’t know what it is.

 

Kate Moss Driving A Taxi Cab? It’s true, people!

Kate Moss apparently is leading a different life today. What with her glamorous and highly-publicized lifestlye seen driving a London taxi cab, many is wondering why. Even I am asking, but who knows the real reason for this? So, what I am gonna do now is talk about how Kate Moss acquired her new London Taxi Cab. Some sites tell that the super-popular model bought the car, paying US$80,000 for the popular London taxi cab.

While in here, the news tells that the cab was sent by pals, whom according to reports included Sadie Frost, as a gift appreciation for the lavish gifts that Moss gave them over the years. The model took it to her St. John Woods home. It was entertaining to learn that a popular and glamorous model like Kate now owns a taxi cab. But as I researched the net, Kate Moss was the only additional to the line of Hollywood stars and celebrities owning the same London Taxi Cab.

Amongst them are: the California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, director Stanley Kubrick, Ian Butcher, and even Prince Philip. So, judging from the turnout of London Cab’s celebrity owners, you could say that driving a taxi cab is a fad amongst these rich and popular individuals after all.

Anyhow, the London Taxi Cab is not your ordinary cab you probably see on the high streets of your town. The cars are also known London Black Cab, and the drivers navigating them around London area are known to undergo rigorous driving test. Not only that, they have to complete knowledge about London area. According to one article I previously read, these drivers will not have complete London streets knowledge in less than four years of studies or trainings. So, that really makes them capable to provide their passengers quality driving service.

In fact, London taxi cab drivers have coveted the best reputation for providing “best taxi service” in the world. So, suffice to say, if you have ever visited London, there is no way that you will get lost in its streets, unless, you don’t know the address that you are going to. What you need to do is tell the driver where to drop you off, and the rest the driver will take care of. Isn’t that nice? Knowing you would not ever get lost in the glitzy and otherwise complicated streets of London.

You don’t need to worry too. Because the drivers are checked with as far as their criminal backgrounds are concerned prior to the hiring. In fact, when you say a taxi cab driver in London, they are one of the most respected individuals, being able to earn the coveted badge from one of the toughest trainings London has to offer.

London Taxi Cabs are also easily recognizable. There are currently three different shaped models roaming around London area. And although the popular cabs are stylish in their own nature, there are future plans for the models. They are to be improved so passengers and drivers alike experience even more safety and comfort during travel. The newest London Taxi Cab vehicles come off with more rounded shape than the earlier versions. Another current one has the squarish shape, which is the Metrocab.

Back to Kate Moss topic, the lady was already seen driving her latest addition to her line of vehicles around town. She was seen behind the wheel with a pal in the passenger side, Fran Cutler. Some friends also noted that Kate Moss was giggling and simply loves the car. Well, I should say that was one different experience for her. What will all luxury vehicles she was accustomed to driving around town, or the many times she was photographed coming off a taxi cab being chauffeured by a real taxi cab driver.

 

Anna Kournikova and Her Cadillac Escalade EXT

The Cadillac Escalade EXT is undoubtedly a menacing appearance. With its good looks, clean lines and muscular appearance, the vehicle seems to fit rightly the equally powerful and popular tennis pro, Anna Kournikova. By the way, this is the first post I ever made to feature a sport persona to add to the long lists of celebrities, both from the Hollywood and other industries as well, and their own autos I wrote about. It is my honor to feature one of the most popular, successful and most bankable sport stars of all time, Miss Anna Kournikova.

Anyone can admit that Miss Kournikova is one of the most known tennis players of her time. Although she has played and been successful in the singles game, she was more known to specialize in the doubles. Matina Hingis played alongside her, and with the teamwork they showed, they won Grand Slam titles in 1999 and 2002.

Miss Kournikova has a height that many critics decided was most fitting to her being a doubles game player. The same reason could be said why she chose a Cadillad Escallade EXT. Perhaps, she finds it a little tough to drive small, fast cars, which other popular celebrities, like Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, and others, are known to favor over other vehicle classifications. For my own opinion, she selected the right vehicle for her. As mentioned above, it looks quite perfect for her, both her physical built and celebrity status speaking.

Topic geared off to Cadillac Escalade EXT, is a luxury pickup truck. That classification was the result of the company’s revamping venture made to the early Escalades. In 2002, they had explored different ways and approach to take advantage of the then popularity and street credentials of luxury SUVs. So, the EXT was actually the maximized point of the Escalade badge.

The current Cadillac Escalade EXT is related to the Chevrolet Avalanche, with as far as mechanical details are concerned. At a bystander’s point of view, one could not possibly undermine the totality of this car.
